Tewksbury Police Get Warrant For Alleged Dealer's Bowel Movement

Police believe the undocumented immigrant swallowed heroin he had planned to sell in Lawrence.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Police obtained a search warrant for the bowel movements of Raul Sanchez-Gomez, who they believe swallowed heroin during a traffic stop over the weekend. Tewksbury Police believe Sanchez-Gomez and Hector Guerrero planned to sell 20 grams of heroin in Lawrence. When undercover officers pulled them over after making a drug purchase, Sanchez-Gomez was choking.

The water to the toilet to Sanchez-Gomez's cell in the Billerica House of Correction was turned off so he cannot flush any passed drugs. Investigators began to suspect he had swallowed or hid the drugs in his buttocks after conducting surveillance of his cell after his arrest.

Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan told the Boston Herald, which first reported this story, that Sanchez-Gomez had made a bowel movement at Lowell District Court on the day of his arraignment before investigators began to suspect that he had swallowed the drugs, but "we are not sure he would have passed something that size and quantity that quickly."
