Play games, win tickets, trade tickets for prizes: nerf ax throwing, musical chairs, dice game, darts, cornhole, ring toss, mini golf, hockey, and giant jenga. Bring your teddy bear or stuffed animal for a medical check up with Dr. H. Enjoy face painting, tattoos, crafts, visit with Thor & Misty, from Barks and Books, giant snack shack, and more. Special performance by Tewksbury High School performers of Mama Mia songs.

How many informational interviews have you been on and then nothing happens? How often do you ask friends to keep their eye open for a job opportunity and don't find anything? Sometimes it's really difficult for others to help you if you aren't clear or specific. (Never use the "I'll take anything” line.) Learn the three questions you should always ask yourself when on an informational interview or in a networking setting. The answers to these questions will forge real connections with others, and help clarify to them, and yourself, what you're really
looking for. Led by Jack Wang, CEO of Longhorn Financial LLC, an independent financial services practice.

VIRTUAL: Mindfulness & Meditation Class – Mindfulness Tools For Stress Reduction (*RR)

Practice clearing your mind, being in the present moment and reducing stress in this 30-minute class. Participants are welcome to find a quiet, comfortable space to relax and join mindfulness teacher, Lauren Masse. Learn how to practice daily mindfulness and calm your mind and body. Lauren will focus on a different type of meditation for each session. Lauren Masse is dedicated and committed to supporting others in their mental and physical wellness journeys. She studied Psychology and Public Health at UMass Amherst, and has a Master’s of Public Health from Boston University. She is a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She founded Mindful Minis Boston in 2018 and offers mindfulness classes and private coaching. This virtual event is a collaboration between the libraries of Andover and Tewksbury.

VIRTUAL: Boston HerStory -- Remarkable Women with Boston Women's Heritage Trail (*RR)

In celebration of International Women’s Month, Jennifer Gregg -- President of the Boston Women's Heritage Trail -- will present"Boston HerStory: Remarkable Women" via Zoom. Examine some of the remarkable women who lived and worked in Boston. Explore their lives and achievements and how they’ve influenced the history of Boston and beyond. Learn about Jennie Loitman Barron, the first woman to become a full-time judge in Massachusetts, and who is in large part responsible for women being allowed to serve on juries in Massachusetts. Among others, meet Amy Cheney Beach, the first American woman to compose a symphony; Melnea Jones Cass, a community leader, civil rights activist, and president of the Boston NAACP; Julia Ward Howe, who wrote "The Battle Hymn of the Republic;" Ellen Swallow Richards, the first woman admitted to MIT, and poet Phillis Wheatley.

VIRTUAL: TEWKSBURY WRITING GROUP – Writing Advice From Matt Cost (*RR)

Are you a writer -- or an aspiring writer -- looking for some support? The new Tewksbury Writing Group, which generally meets the third Monday evening of every month, is open to everyone who's interested in writing -- all genres, all skill levels. Each meeting -- which will take place via Zoom -- features a guest speaker (typically a published author or editor) offering some tips of the trade. Between meetings, members can share their work for reading and friendly critiquing via the group's list-serv. The March 2022 guest speaker is Matt Cost. Matt was a history major at Trinity College. He owned a mystery bookstore, a video store, and a gym, before serving a ten-year sentence as a junior high school teacher. In 2014 he was released and began writing. And that’s what he does. He writes histories and mysteries. "Love in a Time of Hate" is the third historical by Cost. "Joshua Chamberlain and the Civil War; At Every Hazard" was published in 2015, in which Emmett Collins grows into manhood during the Civil War"I am Cuba; Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution” was published in 2020. It was recently awarded the silver award for historical fiction from Kops-Fetherling. Cost has also published the Mainely Mystery series including "Mainely Power" (the MHC Read ME fiction book of the year), "Mainely Fear,” and "Mainely Money." Matt will be discussing tips for mystery writers, historical fiction writers, and writers who work with a small publisher.

VIRTUAL: Sacco & Vanzetti -- Murderers Or Martyrs? (*RR)

Accused of a 1920 South Braintree robbery, during which two men were murdered in cold blood, Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti were convicted and sentenced to death. But did evidence support their convictions “beyond a reasonable doubt?" Or were they “convicted” simply because they were Italian immigrants — and anarchists? The Sacco and Vanzetti case became an international cause célèbre, igniting massive demonstrations, splitting families apart, and to some, staining Massachusetts justice forever. Led by Gregory Williams, who was a District Court judge for many years, retiring as the First Justice of the Edgartown District Court on the Cape in 2015.

Led by Jamie Martin, a Life and Leadership Coach, who helps women who have been going so long that they feel they have lost themselves. Her 17-year career in technology companies like DoubleClick and Google, combined with intensive coaching certifications, gives Martin a unique perspective into what it takes to make a significant transformation in people's lives by putting themselves first, creating a plan, and going after their dreams.

Author Zachary Lamothe will discuss his new book, Classic Restaurants of Boston, on Zoom. The story of Boston is inextricably linked to food, hence its nickname Beantown. Given the city's geography, its cuisine is understandably tied to the sea, with popular dishes such as lobster, oysters and clam chowder. These are still served today at classic restaurants like Union Oyster House, Parker's Restaurant and Legal Sea Foods. There are also neighborhood favorites such as Cantina Italiana in the North End and Sullivan's in Southie. In addition to Boston proper, the surrounding areas have their own specialties, including fried clams, the world's best roast beef sandwich and bar pizza. From famous spots like Cheers to new classics like Anna's Taqueria and the Summer Shack, join local author Zachary Lamothe as he explores the best food in Beantown.

His defiant approach towards music and composing paved the way for artists today to express themselves as they truly desire. Gain an understanding of this complicated genius and learn how he is still influencing the world today nearly 200 years since his death. Dan Lupo, creator of FiveMinuteMozart.com, a music education platform with over 2 million views and 20k+ subscribers, will present an incredible music education program chronicling the life and achievement of one of music history's greatest composers. Dan's program will consist of a spoken lecture as well as live piano performances.

IN PERSON: Film Screening At Senior Center – American Underdog (*RR)

Enjoy a screening of “American Underdog,” a biographical sports drama starring Zachary Levi and Anna Paquin. The story of NFL MVP and Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a supermarket to becoming an American Football star. PG. 112 minutes. Registration required. Limited to 20 seats for the time being. NO candy & water will be served for the time being. The film will take place in the SENIOR CENTER's library. Doors will open at 1:15pm. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library and Tewksbury Lions Club.

VIRTUAL: Jell-O Slime (*RR)

Wednesday, March 23, 3:30pm

Join Kate on Zoom and indulge your senses through the making of Slime--made from Jell-O! Supplies will be provided in this instructional video. Registered attendees will be sent an email with more details about picking up supplies. If you have any questions or food allergies/concerns, please email the Kate, the Teen Library Assistant, at kjennings@tewksburypl.org prior to the event. This event is open to anyone in grades 6-12.

IN PERSON: Teen Movie – SpiderMan: No Way Home (*RR)

Friday, March 25, 3:30pm

Join us for pre-packaged snacks and a movie! This month we are watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film is rated PG-13 and the run time is 2 hours and 28 minutes. Please note that this movie will go past library closing time so there will be no re-entry after 4:50 PM. About the movie: With Spider-Man's identity now revealed, our friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

Tiny Tykes Storytime is back! This storytime is designed for young children ages 0 to 18 months. Older siblings are always welcome to join in. Join us for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme and repetition. Due to Covid restrictions, we are limiting our Storytime programs to 45 people, on a first-come, first-served basis.

IN PERSON: Sprouts Story Time

Tuesday, March 22, 10:15am AND 11am Sprouts Storytime is back! This storytime is designed for little ones 18 months through 4 years. Get your early literacy skills on with stories, songs, movement, instruments, dancing and more! Due to Covid restrictions, we are limiting our Storytime programs to 45 people, on a first-come, first-served basis. This program will be held in the meeting room.

Mad Science is a class designed with you in mind! This event is designed for kids in grades 2-5. A video will be posted at YouTube.com/TewksburyLib at the listed time of the program. Bags can be picked up the day of the program and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
