Tewksbury Town Meeting Passes Budget, Most Items Without Debate
Two articles proposed by citizens were rejected at the annual town meeting, Monday evening.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's annual town meeting voters approved nearly the full warrant with very little discussion. The meeting took only an hour.
The Town Manager's proposed $121,560,466 Fiscal Year 2021 budget was approved unanimously without debate, as were more than a dozen other articles.
Two articles, both proposed by resident George Ferdinand, were indefinitely postponed.

- Article 21 would have changed the town's system for filling vacant elected offices: it would have changed the procedure so that the vacancy would be filled by whoever most recently ran for that office and lost, as long as they earned at least 25 percent.
- Article 22 was a non-binding resolution to "reaffirm that voting ... is the exclusive right and privilege of United States citizens."
Zoning articles will be taken up at the special town meeting, Wednesday evening.
The full meeting is available here from TewksburyTV.
