The Self Defense Institute Selected For Bruce Lee Foundation Program

Students will meet the daughter of martial arts legend.

Recently, The Self-Defense Institute of Tewksbury was selected as one of the 20 martial arts studios chosen to take part in the Bruce Lee Foundation through their hard work and dedication to the Martial Arts.

Out of hundreds of studios in the Northeastern part of the United States, only 20 studios have been exclusively selected to take part in this year’s exciting program. After the selection was made, was proud to donate from TSDI students over $3,000 for the Bruce Lee Foundation.

Also, the elite students from The Self-Defense Institute, who will be competing at the Ocean State Grand Nationals Karate Championships and who will meet and take a picture with Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee’s daughter) are: Kayla Hourihan (17), Ryan Frauten (18), Calvin Satterfield (15), Geoffrey Ducharme (19), Kayla Gilbert (15), Cole Bugley (14)Middle:  Nick Hennebry (11), Megan Cabral (11), Lindsay Annino (10), Alesha Talbot (12), Mikaela Enax (10), Joseph Balliro (12)Bottom:  Sydney Holmes (10 ), Francisco Melo (11), Sean Vumbaco (10), Kyle Vumbaco (12) .(Geoffrey Ducharme and Kayla Hourihan also met Chuck Norris a few years ago with Shihan Deb and Shihan Jeff).

In addition to USA’s best, the Ocean State Grand Nationals are expecting competitors from South Africa, Venezuela, Italy, Germany, Russia, Egypt, Austria, Peru, England, Poland, etc.
