• A Ban on Bikes at Truro's Transfer Station Is Newly Enforced (provincetownindependent.org) — Truro residents who bike to the Route 6 transfer station are now barred from entering on bicycles or on foot, as town officials newly enforce health regulations tying access to vehicle license plates. Longtime cyclist and resident Bob Shapiro is formally appealing the rule, which town leaders say is about safety, at an Oct. 6 board of health meeting that could shape future access for all users.
   

• Truro Prepares to Be a Landlord for Some Employees (provincetownindependent.org) — Truro is getting ready to move town employees into a dedicated house at 71 North Pamet Road and other reserved units, but officials are still wrestling with how to fairly choose who gets them. With up to four staff homes planned, the select board and town manager are weighing whether to prioritize hard-to-fill jobs, urgent housing needs, or even open some units to the wider community.
