The Upton Historical Society invites the community to explore Upton’s rich history at a free public program this December.
Upton Witness Houses — Saturday, December 5, at 2 p.m.
What stories could Upton’s oldest homes tell about the American Revolution? The Upton Historical Society will present a special program on Upton’s Witness Houses on Saturday, December 5, at 2 p.m. at the Upton Community Center.
Witness Houses are homes that stood during the American Revolution and remain standing today. The program will explore the history of these remarkable properties and their place in Upton’s past. Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear from current homeowners about what it is like to live in a home that has witnessed centuries of change.
The program has received special recognition. The Upton Historical Society has been chosen by the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor to receive this year’s John H. Chafee Leadership Award for its work on Upton Witness Houses. The Society is honored and grateful for this recognition, which celebrates its efforts to preserve and share the stories of Upton’s historic homes.
The program offers a unique opportunity to connect Upton’s Revolutionary-era history with the people who preserve and care for these historic homes today.
Everyone is welcome! Join the Upton Historical Society for this free public program and discover the stories, people, and places that make Upton’s history special. Bring a friend and enjoy an afternoon exploring our town’s fascinating past. We look forward to seeing you!
