2023 Plans from the Wakefield Sons & Daughters of Italy
Fun plans for March and April are in the works
It’s a new year, and although we are not meeting as a Lodge in January of February, we are still making some exciting plans.
First up is offering scholarships for high school seniors. Those interested in applying can find the details on the Grand Lodge page. We encourage high school seniors to read about it and apply by February 14th.
In March, we will meet as a Lodge once again. The plan for this meeting is to vote on and elect officers. And let’s not forget about food; there will be an ‘Italian Holiday’ dinner consisting of antipasto, Italian wedding soup, pasta with meat and dessert. Each course will be homemade and served by a small group of our talented members. Doesn’t that sound delizioso?

In April, there will be the installation of officers and initiation of new members. Also, you’ll want to save the date for our 13th Annual Charity Auction. It will be on Tuesday, April 18th at St. Joseph’s parish hall. It will include a come with dinner, dessert, raffles, silent and regular auction items and, of course, our famous/infamous blind auction items!
The auction is our biggest fundraiser and allows up to give aforementioned scholarships. In addition, we support many local charities including the Wakefield Food Pantry, the Wakefield Council on Aging, Foster Kids of Merrimack Valley, North Star Realty toy drive, Council of Clubs food baskets, and the Wakefield/Stoneham Boys & Girls Club to name a few.
