2026 Scholarships Awarded
The Wakefield Sons & Daughters of Italy announce the winners of the 2026 scholarships, and much more.
The Lodge, their guests and the public all enjoyed hearing local author/historian Stephen Puleo talk about the Great Molasses Flood and his book, Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919. Although it was a serious subject, he made it entertaining and included some humor, as well. Mr. Puleo’s book signing was also a big hit. As always, the Lodge bakers provided a delicious assortment of cookies and cannoli.
The Wakefield Sons & Daughters of Italy is pleased to announce the names of the three students who have received scholarships from the Sons & Daughters of Italy. They include Marcus Faucon, Jake Lawler (attending University of South Carolina), and Joseph Serra (attending College of the Holy Cross).
The June 9th meeting will be at the West Side Social Club and will include a drive for new sheets and towels for our friends at the Mission of Deeds in Reading. At that same meeting, we will be hosting the Executive Director of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. All are welcome to attend and learn more about this amazing Foundation. Entrance fee is a donation of your choice that will go directly to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation.
Some upcoming activities we have planned include a picnic at Salem Willows, a clambake in Maine and the return of summer bocce!
