5 Things: 'The Voice' Comes to Town, a Campaign Kickoff and More

Five things worth knowing today, March 20, 2012, in Wakefield, MA.

1. Forget spring, it's summer! - Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 78 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Celebrity in town -  "The Voice" contestant will be making an appearance at Galvin Middle School today as a fundraiser for the varsity dance team's trip to the Orange Bowl. Stop by between 5-8 p.m. for a meet and greet.

3. Donate your old dresses - Wakefield High School is hosting its 2nd annual dress drive. This year, dresses will be donated to Becca’s Closet, a chapter of the Donate My Dress Organization. All dresses will be donated to girls who could otherwise not afford to attend their formal events. The school will be collecting dresses from now through March 23.

4. Financial Aid Night -  The Wakefield Special Education P.A.C. will be sponsoring a financial aid night workshop for all high school parents tonight at 7 p.m. in the Wakefield High School cafeteria.  The program will give a comprehensive overview of the financial aid process and how to negotiate your financial aid package. .

5. Campaign kickoff  - Board of Selectmen candidate Greg Liakos will be at the today from 5 - 8 p.m., to . Stop by and show him your support!
