Another Hybrid Meeting for Wakefield Sons & Daughters to Italy

The December meeting will be entirely remote

(Nikosey, Sharon)

Which of these food items was certainly not on the menu at the meeting between the Pilgrims and the members of the Wampanoag tribe that is commemorated as the first Thanksgiving: Seafood, Yams, Venison or Wildfowl? This and other trivia questions were part of a team competition at the November meeting. All questions were relevant to either Veteran’s or Thanksgiving Day. The winning team won gift certificates to Laurie’s 909. Do you know which character had more appearances than any other as a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloon: Snoopy, Woody Woodpecker, Mickey Mouse, or Ronald McDonald?

In other lodge business, the group chose a few charities to support during the holidays. Two books on Christopher Columbus were purchased for sharing. They are: Columbus and the Quest for Jerusalem by Carol Delaney and Christopher Columbus the Hero by Rafael. A member of the lodge just had a short-story published in an anthology. Her story, “From Train to Tradition” can be found in A Feast of Narrative, Volume 2.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 8. It will be held via Zoom only. No hybrid meeting this time! Start will be 7:00 p.m.
