Arrest Log: Six Arrested in Wakefield over Weekend

The following information was supplied by the Wakefield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Prior Charges
Andrew Crocker, 32, of 32 Pleasant Street, was arrested on an oustanding warrant out of Malden District Court on August 5 at 8:42 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and an inspection sticker violation. Police said that an officer on patrol on Pleasant Street saw Crocker, who he knew to have an active warrant out for his arrest. The warrant was confirmed by headquarters and Crocker was arrested.

Drug Charges
A Wakefield man was arrested on oustanding drug charges on 9:45 p.m. on August 5 after someone called police about a man lying on the ground on Main Street who looked like he needed medical attention. Police said they responded to the area and found Steven Talbot, 25, of 21 Granville Ave in Malden, sleeping on the ground. Police said Talbot refused medical attention. Upon identification of the man, police found he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Malden District Court on charges of possession of a class B drug, possession of a class D drug, and a drug violation near a school or park. Talbot was taken into custody.

OUI Charge
A North Reading resident was arrested on August 7 at 1:50 a.m. after police allegedly observed Christopher Garniss, 34, driving a white 2010 Toyota Highlander erractically on Lowell Street. Police said they observed the vehicle speeding at 40 mph in a 30 mph zone, and crossing over the yellow line on Lowell Street. Police said the vehicle also struck a curb as it attempted to pull over for police. Officers said Garniss failed the field sobriety test. He was arrested and charged with speeding, marked lanes violation, and operating under the influence.

Disorderly in Peabody
Mario A. Forziati, 24, of 2 Fitch Ct. #1, Wakefield, was arrested on August 7 at 12 a.m. for disorderly conduct and keeping a disorderly home, following a report of a loud party on Diane Road in Peabody, according to Peabody Police.

Restraining Order
Jessica Russell, 22, of 3 Morgan Ave in Stoneham, was arrested for violating a restaining order against her on August 7th at 4:18 p.m. via telephone. Russell was arrested in Stoneham and transported back to Wakefield.

OUI Charge
Robert Manzi, 67, of 31 Bartley Street, was arrested on August 7 at 10 p.m. after police received a call for a small red sports car speeding on Harrington Court, near Moulton Playground. When officers responded to the area, they found the vehicle, a red Mitsubichi Eclipse, on Foundry Street, and enacted a traffic stop. Police said that after a field sobriety test was enacted, Manzi was arrested and charged with operating under the influence.
