Looks like the weather for Saturday, August 3 will be another perfect summer day! This week’s market will feature lots of local, fresh picked fruits and veggies, the best fish, meat, dairy, flower bouquets that will last for weeks, the yummiest baked goods and breads, syrups, jellies, jams you can only find at the market. We’ve got local artisans with handmade quality products including soaps and hand dyed tees. And, as always, we have balloon twisting, and a kid’s activity tent stocked with drawing materials. Plus hula hoops, jump ropes, and sidewalk chalk, and special events throughout the season, it’s a great place to shop, have a picnic, play, or just hang out on the shore of Lake Quannapowitt.

The Wakefield Farmers Market takes place at Hall Park (next to Veterans Field, GPS 468 North Ave Wakefield MA) each Saturday through October 12, 2019.

Our guest Wendy Dennis will be preparing a perfect summer dish using in season produce and ingredients chosen that morning from our market. Wendy’s recipes are always quick, easy and delicious. Market day will feature music by Tim Foley, a guitarist/vocalist and songwriter who melds jazz, blues, folk, funk and classical into his vocal songs and instrumentals. He has a delightful guitar instrumental CD and is currently working with a group in recording an album of his jazzier material. The Wakefield Farmers Market Music Program is sponsored by The Savings Bank.

We are pleased to have our neighbors, the Col. James Hartshorne House Association, as one of our nonprofit guests this week. They will be sharing information about this historic home as well as publicizing their popular annual Ice Cream Social that they will be hosting on August 8.
