Chanukah in Wakefield 2019

There are two public events in Wakefield this year to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Chanukah. The first is on the Wakefield Common found on Main St. The Wakefield Public Menorah will be lit on the first night of Chanukah, Sunday, December 22 at 5:00 pm. There will be potato latkes, donuts, and goodies provided by the Chabad of the North Shore. Chabad will be hosting the celebration after the lighting in the conference room in the Town Hall to avoid any weather issues and to encourage attendees to hang out to celebrate.

On the last and eighth night of Chanukah, on Sunday, December 29, Temple Emmanuel will host their Chanukah family party from 5 pm.to 7 pm. Bring your menorah for a group candle lighting and enjoy singing, dancing, stories, and games. Latkes and applesauce will be served along with other desserts. All are welcome! RSVP to Susan S at svitz9@gmail.com or call 919-605-0523
