Community Comes Together for Marathon Blast Victims

Fundraisers at the four Dockside restaurants, including the one in Wakefield, raised thousands for local victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Throughout Sunday afternoon and into the evening, hundreds of area residents stopped by the Dockside in Wakefield to show their support for local residents who were badly injured a week ago today in the Boston Marathon bombing.

Representatives from the Boys and Girls Clubs and from several local businesses manned tables featuring raffle items, "Boston Never Forget" decals, and more. The Boston Never Forget decals are available for $5 each at Diagnostic Motor Vehicle Inspections, Sardella Sign and Graphics, Chuck Wagon Diner, all in Wakefield. On top of that, the restaurants donated 10% of the day's entire sales to the cause.

JP and Paul Norden, the local brothers who each reportedly lost a leg in the Marathon bombing, have reportedly been regular customers at the restaurant, further adding to the local connection.

If you'd like to make a donation, mail it to: Stoneham Marathon Victims Fund, c/o Stoneham Bank, 80 Montvale Ave., Stoneham, MA 02180.
