Counting Down to the Sons & Daughters of Italy Charity Auction

We have great appreciation for many generous businesses and our member donors

April 18th will be here soon and so will the 13th Annual Wakefield Sons and Daughters of Italy Charity Auction. As mentioned previously, it will be held at St. Joseph’s church hall, 173 Albion St. Wakefield, MA. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and guests will have a chance to look over the themed gift baskets, silent auction items and wrapped gifts when they arrive. The silent auction and 50/50 raffle will begin right away, followed by dinner from Harrows and then the live auction around 7:00 p.m. Please bring cash or a check as payment for any item that is won.

We are so appreciative of the items donated from our generous businesses in Wakefield and surrounding towns. We want to thank food service businesses including Alchemy Bar and Kitchen of Lynnfield, Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza, Bunratty Tavern, Cal’s Creamery, Christophers, Calareso’s Farm Stand & Garden Center, Fat Larry’s Sandwich and Ice Cream Shop, DiCara’s Deli, Professor’s Market, and The Chocolate Truffle of Reading; Public Kitchen of Reading and Wakefield; Caffé Italia, Cravings, The Farmland, Laurie’s 9:09, and North Ave Diner of Wakefield; Dom’s Sausage of Malden, Fabrizia Lemon Baking Company of Salem, NH, Pastene of Canton, Pepperidge Farm Prop, and Winfrey’s of Stoneham.

We will be auctioning theatre tickets from Greater Boston Stage Company of Stoneham, Hanover Theater of Worcester, and North Shore Music Theatre of Beverly. Retailers such as Keith’s Forestry Supplies and Repairs, Mary Kay Consultant Cheryl Carroll, Hart’s Ace Hardware, The T-Stop, A Balanced Self Wellness Shop, and Prime Gas Station of Wakefield have donated items and/or gift cards. Also, Total Wine and More donated a private wine class for 20, Mariela’s Mexico donated a bag and both the YMCA of Metro North and MG Fitness donated memberships .

Many service providers generously donated gift cards or products such as Dye by Debra Hair Salon, Impress Graphics and Colonial Cadillac of Woburn, Impress Nails of Saugus, Nude Esthetics of Danvers, Lorenzo’s Dog Training, Mel and Sons Oil of Wakefield, Simply You Salon of Middleton

Our auction will have items from Catherine Grassello Photography of Wakefield, Chef Mary Ann Esposito, Steven Lewis, and the Wakefield Bowladrome. Sports tickets have been provided by Moriarty & Associates (Red Sox) and the New England Revolution of Foxboro.

In addition, auction items will a include a boat trip, a weekend away, household items and decor, health and beauty, food/treats, clothing/accessories, lottery tickets, and “mystery” gifts. We believe there will be something for every bidder. And it’s all for a great cause.

The Lodge uses its charity fund for the Wakefield Food Pantry, Wakefield Senior Center, Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield and Stoneham, Alzheimer’s research, Foster Kids of Merrimack Valley, Cooley’s Anemia Foundation, and The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. The Lodge gives scholarships every year to high school seniors of Italian descent, as well.

Tickets are $15 each and include dinner and dessert. They are available until April 11th via email.
