Train Collides with Pickup Truck in Wakefield, Man Airlifted to Hospital
BREAKING: A man was airlifted to an area hospital after a commuter rail train collided with a pickup truck Thursday.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A 76-year-old man was transported to an area hospital by med flight Thursday after a white pickup truck collided with a Haverhill Line train in Wakefield, according to MBTA Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan
Sullivan confirmed with Patch that the train struck the pickup truck at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. According to Sullivan, the driver attempted to maneuver around the lowered gates at the Broadway Street railroad crossing.
