DPW Open Saturday for Yard Waste Permits

DPW office at town hall open Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. so residents can purchase Nahant Street yard waste site permits.

The following is an announcement from the Wakefield Department of Public Works:

The Department of Public Works Office at Town Hall will be open on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for residents to purchase permits for the Nahant Street Yardwaste Site. The Nahant Street Yardwaste Site is open to Wakefield residents only.

Permits are required and MUST BE RENEWED ANNUALLY. The cost of a permit is $25. Commercial vehicles and trucks over ½ ton are not allowed access to the Nahant Street Yardwaste Site. Landscaping companies are not allowed to use the Nahant Street Yardwaste Site. All yard waste brought to the Nahant Street site must be covered during travel. All leaves brought in plastic bags must be emptied from the bags and the bags removed by the owner.
