Coming up on March 28 is the next in our series of Audubon lectures by Bill Gette, Director of Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Sanctuary in Newburyport. Bill is a traveler with many exotic destinations to talk about.
On March 28, Bill Gette will talk about his trip leading a group of naturalists to the Kingdom of Bhutan – a tiny, land-locked country in the Himalayas, which borders both
India and China. Its land varies from subtropical plains to peaks of more than 23,000 feet. It was an expedition that took the group into both the natural and the cultural worlds of Bhutan, and Bill’s words and pictures will take us with them to Buddhist temples, to historic dzongs (monastery/fortresses), to religious festivals with traditional dances, as well as to many wonderful wildlife venues in this rugged country.
