Douglas Starr on the History of Forensic Science

Author and professor Douglas Starr, co-director of the graduate Program in Science and Medical Journalism at Boston University will be discussing his book The Killer of Little Shepherds: A True Crime Story and the Birth of Forensic Science. The events detailed in the book took place in turn-of-the-century France, when a serial killer named Joseph Vacher terrorized the countryside, finally to be stopped by the father of scientific forensics, Dr. Alexander Lacassagne.
