The Wakefield Special Education P.A.C. will be sponsoring a financial aid night workshop for all high school parents on Tuesday March 20th at 7:00 in the Wakefield High School cafeteria. The program given by C.F.S. (College Funding Services) will give a comprehensive overview of the financial aid process and how to negotiate your financial aid package. The CFS workshop will also include:
-A comprehensive overview of the financial aid process
-Thorough discussion of~the FAFSA and CSS/Profile -How to properly access and prepare these forms -Due dates and deadlines
-Strategies on how to fill out these forms in a manner that will maximize financial aid eligibility
-Parents will learn how to value and report different assets including: -How student assets vs. parent assets are treated -Details on 529 plans -How to report home value -Pros and Cons of different borrowing options
-Which schools typically offer the most competitive financial aid packages
-How to negotiate your financial aid package
