Fresh! Eating Locally with Kids

Food blogger Tammy Donroe speaks on Wednesday, March 30 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM
Do you want to eat more local and seasonal foods, but worry that your family will revolt? Tammy Donroe, mom, locavore and writer of the blog Food on the Food, will be at Beebe Library on Wednesday, March 30, to talk about the pleasures and challenges of eating locally with kids. She will discuss strategies for working local foods into a busy lifestyle, including a look at community supported agriculture (CSA), farmers’ markets and supermarket offerings with a realist look at the cost. She also shares her favorite seasonal recipes, cookbooks and local products.

The series wraps up on April 5 with Valerie Conyngham, owner of Vianne Chocolat, discussing the chocolate growing process and how she turns “The Fruit of the Gods” into the delicate chocolate confections we all adore. She’ll discuss how she incorporates sustainability into her business and what it takes to source the local ingredients that go into her chocolate creations. And the best part? Samples will be available.
