Join us on February 9 at 6:30 p.m. for “From Ballpark to Bookshelf” with Pete Solomon, former sports anchorman and play-by-play broadcaster.
Solomon has worked for ABC and ESPN and done play-by-play for seventeen different sports. He has held the title of the “Voice of the Phoenix Suns,” telecast first round games in three NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments, and broadcast the Fiesta, Senior, and Insight.com bowls.
Now a librarian, Solomon combines his interest in sports and literature to bring us this talk about popular sports writers such as John Feinstein, Dan Jenkins, Dan Shaughnessy, and a number of other well known authors who have brought their unique insight from the fields and courts to the printed page. Stories from Pete’s broadcasting career are woven into his presentation.
