Author of the new book “Images of America: Wakefield Revisited”
Local historian Nancy Bertrand, author of the new book “Images of America: Wakefield Revisited,” will speak at Beebe Library on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 7 p.m.
Published by Arcadia Publishing, “Wakefield Revisited” features vintage photos – including some never before seen – of long lost Wakefield businesses, industries and landmarks as well as past Wakefield events and celebrations. Bertrand spent the better part of six months compiling the photos from public and private collections and writing the captions for each image.
Nancy Bertrand is president of the Wakefield Historical Society and Chairman of the Wakefield Historical Commission. She wrote a previous book about Wakefield published by Arcadia, “Images of America Wakefield,” as well as “Wakefield 350 years by the Lake,” published in 1994.
Copies of her new book will be available for purchase at Betrand’s talk at the library on January 18. The event will take place in the Lecture Hall and is free and open to the public.
