Walter Tennis Tournament Sets Dates

The Geoffrey Walter Memorial Junior Tennis Tournament will be held over August 25-26 weekend at the Dobbins Courts at WHS. Overall this is the 22nd year of the annual event and the 10th year that it has been named in honor of Geoffrey Walter.

There are plans to have three separate age brackets for both boys and girls; High School, 14 and under and 12 and under. Consolation matches and fun parent and children matches are scheduled throughout the weekend so that all participants get plenty of play. The tournament is geared for both beginning and more advanced players. Players must be from Wakefield.

Fundraising in the form of donations and raffles during the weekend will go to the Geoffrey A. Walter Citizens Scholarship Fund.
In the spirit of Geoffrey Walter, the tourney committee invites all interested junior tennis players and families to participate and demonstrate their enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship.
