WHS is trying a new format for fall parent-teacher conferences this year.

Here is the background: We received feedback from parents in the last few years about our November conference format, traditionally held from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Cafeteria & Library. It has been hot and crowded, with long lines - parents say they have stood in line for as long as two hours waiting to see a teacher, never seeing other teachers they had hoped to visit. As a result, we have been brainstorming on other options. Some high schools have tried online registration appointments-only conferences: I have heard the stories of many frustrated parents who come home from work to register, only to find out that all appointments are taken.
So we are planning something new this year; we will try it out and get feedback from parents and faculty afterward.
We will host a Parent-Teacher Conference Open House on Thursday, November 17, from 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Parents can visit the school at any time during these hours to visit teachers in their classrooms for 5-minute conferences. We will have a set of student schedules available, as well as building maps to help parents find their way around.
