Event Spotlight: America Recycles Day at Walton Elementary School

On Tues., Nov. 15, Walton Elementary School will be turned into a fully-functioning recycling center from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

From the organizer:
On Tuesday, Nov. 15, the Walton Elementary School will take part in a special recycling program as part of America Recycles Day.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., please bring in your soft recyclable material (clothing, stuff animals, etc.) From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., the school will be accepting all electronics, white goods, and hard recycable material (computers, TVs, etc.)

 SOFT GOODS: Gently-used clothing, stuffed animals, soft toys, shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, bedding, etc.

ELECTRONICS & METAL: Some examples are listed below in materials list. 

LARGE APPLICANCES - WHITE GOODS - air conditioners, dehumidifiers, washing machines, etc): will be accepted for $5.00 each. (This is a great deal compared to the $20 fee that the town charges for disposal of these items.)

TVs: Accepted at the rate of  $0.45/pound.  For small TV, this is a great deal compared to the $20 DPW fee. TVs will be weighed at drop-off and payment is expected at this time.

Please, no fluorescent bulbs!
