February's Birthstone: The Amethyst

Amethyst, the birthstone for February, is a meditative and calming stone which works in the emotional, spiritual, and physical planes to provide calm, balance, patience, and peace. Amethyst is ideally deep medium purple with rose colored flashes and generally ranges in hue from pale lilac to nearly black purple. Amethyst's are also said to be the traditional anniversary for the sixth of marriage.
