Fire Chief Reminds Residents that Open Burning Period Over

May 1 at 4 p.m. was the end of time residents could burn brush.

WAKEFIELD -- Chief Michael Sullivan reminds residents that the town's open burning period has ended.

Residents were able to burn brush, cane, driftwood, tree pruning and other forestry with a permit granted by the Wakefield Fire Department. The burning period spanned from Jan. 15 to May 1 at 4 p.m..

"I would like to thank our residents for another safe Open Burning Season this year," Chief Sullivan said.
