Ground Broken for New Galvin Middle School
State and local officials attended Wednesday morning ceremony.
State and local officials attended a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning for the new Galvin Middle School project.
State Treasurer Steve Grossman said that the new school will provide students with “a state of the art learning and teaching environment for many years to come.”
About 55% of the cost of the project will be paid for by the Massachusetts School Building Authority, the agency announced in a news release, adding that the new school will be built for an enrollment of 1,070 students from grades 5 through 8.
The current Galvin Middle School on Main Street was built in 1954.
