Hazardous Waste, Yard Waste Collection Next Month In Wakefield
Wakefield residents can take advantage of mercury, household hazardous waste, and yard waste collections coming up soon.
WAKEFIELD, MA — Wakefield will host household hazardous waste and yard waste collection events in November.

This November, Wakefield residents can take advantage of mercury, household hazardous waste, and yard waste collections sponsored by the Public Works Department. If you have any questions about these events, feel free to contact the Department of Public Works at 781.246.6301.

- Mercury collection is available to Wakefield residents and businesses at the Nahant Street Yard Waste Site on November 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. No permit is required for mercury collection.
- On November 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event will be held at Wakefield Memorial High School (60 Farm Street). For a list of the items that can be safely disposed of at this event, visit www.wakefield.ma.us/hazardous-waste
- On November 4 and November 18, residents can take advantage of curbside yard waste collection. Yard waste must be curbside prior to 7 a.m. in biodegradable paper bags or barrels. No plastic bags will be collected. Branches should be cut into 3’ lengths or less and tied in bundles no more than 18” in diameter.
