Improvements Coming to Landrigan Field
Renovations will be made to the Landrigan Field complex's locker rooms, light fixtures, press box and other locations as part of a $3,500 donation from the Wakefield Warriors Club.

The School Committee accepted a gift of $3,500 from the Wakefield Warriors Club at their Tuesday night meeting, setting the stage for a series of updates and improvements to be made to the Colonel James M. Landrigan Memorial Field.
Among the improvements that will be made, the boys home and away locker rooms will be fixed up, in addition to the space used by the referees. The light fixtures will be touched up, as will the bathrooms, and several holes in the roof will be repaired.
On the field, benches will be installed for the home team, giving the players a chance to rest between plays. And up in the stands, some construction will be done on the press box.

Landrigan Field was originally opened in 1974, and since its opening it has periodically seen improvements, most notably when lights were added to allow for Friday night games.
Other Donations
Landrigan Field isn’t the only place that will soon receive a makeover. The School Committee also accepted the Class of 2011’s class gift as well. The Class of 2011 has commission for the construction of a new Wakefield Memorial High School sign to replace the existing one on the exterior of the building.

The new sign will cost between $4,000 and $6,000 to build, and will be made of wood in order to be more easily maintained.
Inside the classroom, students will soon see a great abundance of white boards after the School Committee accepted a donation of 13 white boards from Vestmark/Ginnette Larsen. According to Business Administrator Michael Connelly, the white boards are all in good condition and they will be put to good use in the schools.
Lastly, the School Committee accepted a donation of $25 in memory of Robert Parker.
