International Women's Day Celebration Coming Up In Wakefield

The Wakefield Human Rights Commission and Girl Scouts of Wakefield are inviting the public to the event.

WAKEFIELD, MA — The Wakefield Human Rights Commission and Girl Scouts of Wakefield are inviting the public to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 14.

"We are hosting an informal social gathering for the women of Wakefield and see this as an opportunity to network, come together and get to know your neighbor," the Wakefield Human Rights Commission wrote on Facebook. "We’ll hand out Icebreaker Bingo cards to get people talking."

The event will be at the Galvin Middle School cafeteria from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Girl Scouts will be making tie blankets which will be donated to the Mystic Valley Elder Services and all are welcome to participate. Girl Scout cookies will be available as refreshments.
