It Was a Special Night with Mary Ann Esposito

Mary Ann showed how much fun cooking can be.

Members of the Wakefield Sons and Daughters of Italy and non-members alike were enchanted by Mary Ann Esposito’s presentation at the West Side Social Club in October. Mary Ann of Ciao Italia television and cookbook fame shared stories about how she got into cooking, television, writing cookbooks and taking groups to Italy. Mary Ann showed how much fun cooking can be and she stressed the importance of keeping family cooking traditions alive. She answered questions from the audience and was both entertaining and amusing.

The event also included several door prize cookbooks, an Italian gift basket raffle and a beautiful and delicious assortment of Italian homemade cookies, coffee and tea. Members of the audience enthusiastically purchased cookbooks and aprons and Mary Ann personalized each one. Another special part of the evening was a sauce and pasta collection for the Wakefield Food Pantry.

As promised, many photos of the event have been shared on our Facebook page. If you were at the event, we likely have a photo of you.

Earlier in October, we had our monthly meeting and celebration of Italian Heritage Month with our own food pantry collection. We were thrilled to induct seven new members to the Lodge. It was a busy and productive month.

We do love meeting new people and having new members join and add their personalities, interests and enthusiasm to our Lodge. If you want information about us, contact President Paula at wakefieldosia@gmail.com.
