Little Remains Of Wakefield's First Baptist Church

Workers tearing down and hauling off what remains from Tuesday night fire.

By noon, all that remained was a wall with a couple windows and a pile of rubble.

The First Baptist Church, just three days ago a beautiful Wakefield landmark, was quickly coming down Thursday as workers hauled off what remained after a Tuesday night fire destroyed the nearly 150-year-old church.

The area was fenced in but still attracted onlookers and slowed every car driving by on Main Street. By mid-day Thursday the gofundme page set up for the church had raised $5,571 toward its goal of $50,000.
