Wakefield High School students were honored to hear from two of the most highly decorated US veterans.
Two Medal of Honor recipients visited and spoke to the students at the school on Wednesday.

United States Marine Corps Colonel Harvey Barnum and United States Navy Petty Officer Robert Ingram arrived at WHS in a US Army Blackhawk helicopter and spoke to a packed field house of students and special guests.
The Medal of Honor is the United States highest military honor, for acts of valor that go beyond the call of duty. The award is given to the recipient by the President of the United States.

Currently there are 78 living Medal of Honor recipients.
Barnum was issued the Medal of Honor in 1967 for his actions in Ky Phu in Quang Tin Province in the Republic of Vietnam on Dec. 18, 1965.
