Memorial Day Ceremonies Begin At 10 a.m. Across Wakefield

Memorial Day tributes to our veterans start early in Wakefield with two events at 10 a.m. and others spread out through the day.

At 10 a.m. services will be held at the West Side Social Club and at the Crystal Community Club. At 1 p.m. on the Veterans Memorial Common, services will be held that include keynote speaker Lieutenant Justin Maio of the United States Coast Guard. Maio, a Wakefield High Class of 2009 graduate, has won two Coast Guard Letters of Commendation, one Coast Guard Unit Commendation, and two Meritorious Team Commendations. He is currently a Marine Inspector in Port Arthur, Texas.

Decoration of the Graves will also take place with ceremonies at Lakeside Cemetery and Forest Glade Cemetery at 4 p.m.
