Memorial Day Observances in Wakefield

Annual parade leaves Galvin Middle School at 1 p.m., with observances at upper common right afterward.

The town has announced the schedule for its 2013 Memorial Day observation. The annual parade leaves Galvin Middle School at 1 p.m. and heads toward the Veterans Memorial Common in front of the WWII Monument.

This year’s Memorial Day observance will include keynote remarks by James Pinnette, USMC, member of American Legion Post 63, as well as “God Bless America” performed by the Wakefield High School Marching Band, the National Anthem performed by Wakefield High School Junior Mackenzie Mildram,  the introduction of area Gold Star parents, and TAPS by WHS students Michael Russo and Michael Mouradian.
