Members of the Sons of Italy Lodge 1734 collected several large bags of toys for the Toys for Tots drive at their December meeting. This has become an annual event for the group, who enjoy helping out in the community.
In addition this month, they hosted their annual Christmas Party for a group of students from the Wakefield Public Schools at the Crystal Community Club. It included games, music, lunch and a visit from Santa. It was a fun day for both the children who attended and the members who got to be Santa’s elves. Special thanks to Chairperson Patricia Ectman and the many Lodge members who significantly helped organize and fund the event, as well as Meletharb’s Ice Cream, Wakefield House of Pizza, and the Crystal Community Club. DJ James DiNanno was the clear hit of the party!
The December meeting was catered by Jade Gourmet of Wakefield. Members enjoyed quite an assortment of Chinese dishes.
