Missing Woman Returns Home, Harassing Phone Calls: Wakefield Police Logs

Excerpts from the Wakefield Police Logs from Dec. 5-7.

WAKEFIELD, MA — The following are excerpts from the Wakefield Police Logs. Information below does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 5

1:15 p.m.: A party on Lee Street reported that a white van was out front of their home with the words "private contractor" in green and a man was on the property when their nanny came home. The van was gone upon police arrival.

3:52 p.m.: A caller reports a repeated motor vehicle violations by an orange dodge truck speeding on Melvin Street. The person in the orange truck was spoken to and denied violations.

10:38 p.m.: A caller reported a white male in his 30s wearing a white t-shirt and a black vest who allegedly knocked on a Salem Street door looking for a woman who did not live at the residence. The man checked out and was sent on his way.

Dec. 6

8:34 a.m.: A party reported that the left hand turning traffic signal on North Ave. and Prospect Street is not turning green. Police found the green arrow to be out and the fire department was notified. The fire department reported all was normal with the left turn light, and there was extra traffic due to the closure of chestnut street.

10:24 a.m.: A nurse director reported that a patients iPod had gone missing. The iPod was unable to be located.

1:01 p.m.: A caller reported a tan van driving on Main Street occupied by three males, two of whom were wearing bandanas over their faces. The van was unable to be located.

6:29 p.m.: A person on Greenwood Street reports that a liquor bottle had been broken in front of their residence numerous times.

6:31 p.m.: A woman on Western Avenue reported that there was an unwanted man in her residence. Police reported that she was not home but that she would call back if the man returns. The person called back, and the man and another woman left the property without incident.

7:19 p.m.: A mother on Water Street reported her 20-year-old daughter missing. The woman waited to file a missing persons report, but later reported that her daughter returned home and was safe.

Dec. 7

6:35 a.m.: A medical alarm company reports an elderly female with a cold and requested an ambulance.

9:01 a.m.: A man on Foster Street reported that he receives phone calls from an unknown male party soliciting business to work on his computer. He said that no threats have been made, but he continues to get calls. The man was advised to contact his phone provider and ask for more information on the caller.

4:09 p.m.: A person walked in to the police station and reported a juvenile runaway. The mother later reports that their daughter had returned home, and police confirmed.
