New Members Welcomed by The Sons and Daughters of Italy

The Wakefield Sons and Daughters of Italy had a memorable meeting in May. Ten new members were inducted and welcomed to the Lodge. This group of inductees joined from several surrounding towns, including Saugus and Burlington. The Lodge is pleased to have new members, which brings new energy to the group.
In addition, the Lodge heard tips on how to simplify a home, a space and life. Special guest speaker, Eileen of Simplify With Eileen encouraged members to live with less “stuff” because an uncluttered home can lead to a less cluttered life. After her enlightening talk, she took specific questions – and there were plenty of them. Deciding what stuff to get rid of and what to do with it were popular topics.
Also in May, many members met up at Wolf Hollow in Ipswich. They were able to learn about the life of wolves and see them in their habitat. In addition, they witnessed them interacting with their pack-mates.

Better weather and longer days mean it’s time once again for Tuesday night bocce at the Stoneham Senior Center. It is a casual game with whomever drops by. There is no charge (and no prizes!) This activity is open to the public to either play or just watch/cheer.
Our meetings are also open to everyone interested in possibly joining our Lodge. We have many more meetings and activities planned which include (but aren’t limited to) a trip to Rockport, Giggles comedy show, a picnic by the lake, mini golf at Richardson’s, meeting our scholarship winners and apple picking. Be sure to check out our Facebook. If you want to speak with someone about the Lodge, contact President Paula at wakefieldosia@gmail.com.
