Oil Truck Rolls Over in Saugus: Driver Rescued, 100 Gallons of Fuel Oil Spilled
BREAKING: An oil tanker overturned in a Saugus intersection Tuesday afternoon.
SAUGUS, MA — An oil tanker overturned in a Saugus intersection Tuesday afternoon, according to multiple reports.
WBZ-TV reports that the driver of the truck was temporarily pinned, but was extracted by Saugus firefighters out of the truck cab through the windshield. The driver, 46, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital, according to the report.
The report further indicates that initial estimates after the accident had 100 gallons of fuel spilling on the ground. The accident took place in the Sampston Street and Dewey Street intersection. The Lynn Item reports that the intersection is located off Walnut Street, and that the Lynn fire department also responded to the scene.
