Photo Gallery: Wakefield Boys' Hockey Team Shuts Out Watertown

The Warriors scored three first period goals and never looked back.

The visiting Wakefield boys' hockey team scored early, and did not look back as they beat Watertown 5-0 Wednesday at Ryan Skating Arena.

The Warriors got onto the board 1:05 into the game, when junior Tyler MacDonald scored on a pass from senior Ryan Andrews.

Wakefield struck again just over two minutes later when senior captain Kevin Doherty scored a power play goal. junior Alec Brown and junior Daniel Cardillo assisted on the tally.

With 4:21 left in the first Doherty struck again, beating Watertown goalie Alex Hayek, to make it 3-0. Assists went to junior Edward Mathews and junior Kyle Leone.

The Raiders kept the Warriors at bay for most of the second period, but with 15.6 seconds left Mathews scored off a pass from Doherty.

Nearly five minutes into the third period, senior Joseph McClory made it 5-0 Wakefield, and Mathews got the assist.

The game got chippy after that, and the referees handed out three sets of matching penalties.
