Photo Gallery: Wakefield Girls Tennis Still Seeking First Win

It's been a rough season so far for the Wakefield High girls tennis team, as the Warriors still seek their first win of the year. 

That win almost came on Wednesday at Reading, but Wakefield fell just short in a 3-2 loss to the Rockets. 

Nicole Wu beat Reading's Hannah Conroy at first singles, 6-3, 6-2, but Dominique Masse lost, 2-6, 2-6 at second singles to Katie Crowley and Alex Gnieskie lost at third singles, 1-6, 1-6 to Reading's Haley Laughlin. 

Wakefield's first doubles team of Alsion Doherty and Shira Faigle picked up an exiting, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Lily Drescher and Alana Fiorita, but Liz Tan and Kim Shea lost to Alex Hopkinson and Delancy Higgins, 1-6, 1-6, at second doubles. 

Up next for the Warriors is another road match, this time at Watertown today at 3:30 p.m.
