The Wakefield High boys basketball team proved a point Friday night, defeating potent Reading High at Hawkes Field House in convincing fashion.

The Wakefield Warriors boys basketball team picked up a huge win against Reading, handing the Rockets their first back-to-back loss of the year while bouncing back from a loss to Lexington their last time out, on Jan. 24.

Reading lost its second game in a row on Friday night, as visiting Wakefield was able to secure a 59-48 victory at Hawkes Field House, thanks, in large part, to the efforts of freshman forward Bruce Brown.

The Rockets fell to Stoneham on the road Jan. 24 in heartbreaking fashion, 50-49.
