Expanding language through play is a wonderful way to engage your child and not make him feel like he is doing "work".
Play-Doh is super for pretending, describing, asking questions, and following directions. Use several different colors of play doh, cookie cutters, and other tools you may have around the house. Have fun!
Building with legos, wooden blocks, empty plastic/cardboard containers, or even pillows, couch cushions and blankets will find you and your child busy for hours! The language used while building helps expand a child's knowledge of basic concepts such as: tall/short, more/less, big/small, long/short. Following directions can also be incorporated into building. Be creative!
