Police Investigating Armed Robbery At 7-Eleven

Albion Street convenience store robbed by white male wearing a ski mask on Thursday night.

WAKEFIELD – The Wakefield Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store late last night according to Police Chief Rick Smith.

On Thursday at 11:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven on Albion Street for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect, a white male between 5-feet-10-inches and 6 feet tall wearing a ski mask, entered the store and demanded that the clerk open the register.

When told that the register was empty, the suspect reached over the counter and took four pack of cigarettes. When he did so, a black handgun was visible in his right hand. The suspect then fled the store, ran across Albion Street and drove off in a dark colored pickup truck down Lake Street.

Officers then conducted a search of the area with the assistance of a Lynnfield Police K-9 unit, but they were unable to locate the suspect or vehicle.

The suspect was further described as having a thin build and wearing a black sweatshirt, gray cargo pants, black gloves and black boots.
