Arrests
Wakefield detectives broke up an alleged drug deal on March 23 and charged a Wakefield man with distribution and posession with intent to distribute Percocet after an investigation at a Subway restaurant on Salem Street. Matthew Gallucci, 25, of 37 Kneeling Rd. in Wakefield was arrested for allegedly running a drug deal through a middleman to deal pills of Percocet. Working through the Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force, an undercover detective stationed at the restaurant said he observed a female pull into a parking space at the restaurant, make a phone call, meet with a male in the parking lot, enter the restaurant, hand Gallucci money, meet again with the male, and then drive away in separate cars. Police said that after driving away, the woman and man met again on Rosemary Ave, when the woman allegedly handed the man 5 pills of Percocet and kept 2 pills for herself. The restaurant portion of incident was also reportedly caught on the store’s surveillance camera. After stopping the alleged exchange of Percocet between the man and the woman, police said they returned to the Subway store and confronted Gallucci there, who allegedly threw 12 and a half Percocet tablets in a bag onto the floor. Wakefield officers also confiscated $692. Galluci was charged with distribution of a Class B drug, Percocet, possession to distribute a Class B drug, subsequent offense, and a drug violation near a school/park.
Police arrested Kelly Pfeifer, 21, of 240 Lowell Street in Wakefield on March 24 after police reportedly discovered heroin in the glove compartment of the car she said she was borrowing from a family member. Police said that at 10:17 p.m., they observed a car on North Ave fail to stop at a stop sign. After stopping the vehicle, the driver, a male, and the passenger, Pfeifer, told police neither of them possessed a valid driver’s license. A male in the back seat said he had one, but when he rolled down the back seat window, police said they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. Police then searched the car, and allegedly found in the glove compartment a silver spoon with brown residue in the middle, a blue bottle cap with resident in it, and many used syringes. Pfeifer told police she was not aware of the drugs in the car, but given that the car was in her possession, she was arrested for possession of a class A drug, heroin, 2nd offense.
