St. Joseph School Welcomes Sue Christiansen

Sue and her guide dog, Tilly, visited Grade 3

Sue Christiansen and her guide dog Tilly visited Mrs. Ellis’ third grade class on March 9. This two-part LADD (learning about differences and disabilities) lesson was a phenomenal experience for the students. They learned all about different kinds of visual disabilities and adaptive equipment to help a person who is visually impaired or blind. Each student completed a booklet which they will keep containing the braille alphabet and lots of information about what to do, as well as what not to do, when you meet a blind person. Mrs. Ellis and her class would like to thank everyone who makes the LADD program such a valuable addition to our curriculum.
