State High School Track Titles On the Line Saturday
Many from the area hope to leave Fitchburg State with MIAA titles in hand.

Many have already proven they're the best in their divisions. On Saturday they get the chance to prove they're the best in the entire state.
The MIAA All-State track meet is Saturday at Fitchburg State and many from this area have a chance to go home with hardware.
The Wakefield boys won the Division 3 state title and a number of Warriors will be looking to medal. Brian Smith was second in the 200 in the Division 3 meet and is seeded 11th Saturday. Matt Greatorex is finishing off a historic career in cross country and track and is seeded 12th in the 800 and 19th in the mile. Rohan Singhvi is seeded 21st in the two-mile. In the shot put, Patrick Redmond is seeded 3rd and in the discus, Charles Senior is seeded 24th. On the girls' side, Allee Purcell won the 400 at the Division 3 meet and is seeded 14th at the state meet. Olivia Featherstone was third in the high jump at the D3 meet and is seeded 16th Saturday.

The North Reading girls won the Division 3 title and the Hornets could challenge again Saturday. Ali Grasso was second in the 100 hurdles at the D3 meet and is seeded 15th at All-States. The talented sophomore is also seeded 8th in the triple jump and 10th in the pentathlon. Megan Lawlor is seeded 8th in the long jump. The strong Hornet pole vault team is reflected in Isabella Parrett seeded 7th, Sophia Casciano 8th, and Rachel Hill 32nd.
Down the road in Lynnfield, the Pioneers have Saturday hopes as well. Nick Kinnon is seeded 26th in the 200 after taking second at the Division 4 meet. Ben Kramich is seeded sixth in the pole vault after winning the D4 title. For the girls, Boston College-bound senior Kate Mitchell is seeded 5th in the 800.

Stoneham's Mike Reilly has had a great season in the jumping events and he's seeded 11th in the high jump, 13th in the long jump.
When it comes to the field events, there isn't a better pair that Reading's Shannon Parks and Haley Lightbody. Parks is seeded 22nd in the discus and 24th in the shot put while Lightbody is seeded first in the pole vault and 25th in the long jump.
