State Trooper, Tow Truck Driver Struck On Side Of I-95

No charges have been filed. Police are investigating whether road conditions had to do with the crash.

WAKEFIELD, MA — A state trooper and a tow truck driver were struck by a vehicle while they attending to a disabled vehicle on I-95 North near Exit 40 Tuesday morning. State police said both victims were brought to Lahey Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle that struck them also crashed into the tow truck. Police said two other people suffered minor injuries but it was unknown what vehicle those people were in.

The trooper called in the crash himself.
